HINOKI
Used since ages as a construction material to build Japanese temples and shrines, Hinoki is a type of cypress considered sacred and grows only in this part of the world.

In fact, Horyuji temple, which is the oldest wooden structure in the world, was built using this wood about 1300 years ago, and 65% of it still remains today. With this, the durability and the preservability of hinoki is considered the highest level in the world. Hako products are made from a 40-60 year-old Hinoki from Tenryu (west of Shizuoka Prefecture).
